XiaoFeng Wang Most Referenced IUB Scholar In December


CSI Professor XiaoFeng Wang was December’s most referenced IUB scholar in December – according to ResearchGate.net, a platform for sharing research. With over 1700 citations in the last 6 months alone, XiaoFeng’s research strongly affects security research not only at Indiana University, but internationally, as it helps inform and inspire researchers from around the globe.

Prof. Wang’s contributions play a critical role in why the 2015 independent CS Rankings — which ranks in all areas of study — places Indiana University so highly. In 2015, in security, Indiana University ranked 10th in the nation, 11th worldwide for computer security research, and was the top public university in computer security by publications.

Professor Wang’s citations in December alone ranged from University of Arizona’s Marwan Krunz’s citation of Professor Wang’s work on game-theoretic modeling and analysis of insider training, to Vanderbilt Unuversity’s Zhiyu Wan’s citation on privacy preservation and human genomes. Citations came from around the globe, from the University of Massachusetts, Sabanci University, the University of South Australia, and the Nara Institute of Science and Technology.

Professor Wang is the Director of Computer Science for Admissions as well as the Co-Director of the Center for Security Informatics.
